Keeping Your Piggie Healthy
One of the best ways to keep you Piggie healthy is to give it proper care. You
also need to regurly need to weigh your piggie and keep a record. This will help you see possible problems
before any outward signs may be visible. If your piggie drops in weight It may indicate that there is a problem.
We use a form that you can download from the link below to track weight and life events. This information can
help your vet have an even better picture of your piggies overall health.
How Can I tell if my piggie is sick?
Piggies are great actors, They can hide even the worst of illnesses. In the wild, their lives depend on them
maintaining the appearance of perfect health to survive. As pets, the continue this. Unfourtunatly, Unless you
are dilligent and come to understand the sometimes subtle changes in behavior, you may never know that a problem
exists untill it's nearly too late. Thus the above recomendation for regular weighing. You will also want to regurly
interact with your piggie and note any change in how your piggie acts / reacts. Some of the behaviors to watch for
are lethargy, reduced eating, drinking and output, sitting alone usualy in a corner with fur "puffed up", Or more
ominus, sitting facing the corner mostly unresponsive. If you see any of these, you need to get your piggie to
a vet ASAP, they almost never get over an illness on their own.
